The Marketing Centre was formed in January 1979 based on the idea that it was very difficult for organisations to gain actionable evidence in support of their strategy building process.

The increasing influence of market circumstances, and in particular competitiveness, on the success of an organisation is a trend that has never stopped.

 

The fortunes of organisations are strongly influenced by the degree to which people exercise a choice and this choice is largely informed by their perception of what the organisation offers. That in turn, is a challenge that is only consistently met by companies that have good evidence on what is required to succeed, and a value chain that is uniquely capable of producing a winning offer.

 

During its first 20 years of operations The Marketing Centre placed heavy emphasis on diagnostic services such as market research, market analysis, company analysis and industry studies.

 

As these services became increasingly available from reliable services the firm increased its focus on the development of strategy.

 

The firm operated from QV1 from 1994 to 2000 as a relatively typical, city based, professional services firm.  In 2001 the firm decided to focus entirely on strategy and separated from its market research arm that now operates as Research Solutions, and moved to Bagot Road in Subiaco where it has been entirely focused on the provision of its strategic services.

 

From this base the firm has continued to attract a wide base of blue-chip clients, as evidenced by our client list, in providing demonstrable proof to our expression “the clients that use us the most need us the least”.
